CASA volunteers are ordinary citizens that do extraordinary work for abused and neglected children in our community. A CASA volunteer doesn’t have to be a lawyer, counselor, social worker, or even a college graduate to successfully advocate for a child. CASA volunteers just have to be willing to listen and speak up for the best interests of the child.
All CASA volunteers must:
- Be 21 years of age or older;
- Submit to finger-printing and a background check;
- Attend 30 hours of pre-service training; and
- Commit at least a year to their service or until their case has reached permanency (whichever comes first).
To join CASA of Maury County in serving the abused and neglected children of Maury County, we ask that you complete our Volunteer Application. Please fill out the application completely and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org, fax it to our office at (931) 381-3111, or mail it to:
CASA of Maury County, Inc.
22 Public Square, Suite 2
Columbia, Tennessee 38401
Once we receive your application, we will contact you to schedule a screening interview. The interview will take place at the CASA of Maury County program office with our Program Director, Marsha Boren.
Once you have completed the application and interview process, you will be ready for training. During training, all participants must submit to a complete criminal background check.
If you would like more information or would like to receive a Volunteer Information Packet, please contact our office at (931) 381-4733 or email email@example.com. Today could be the day you begin to change a child’s life.
